Some people are born with it! Or others (like me!) are struggling during their life to respect certain rules in order to have a cleaner and brighter complexion. As a woman and a makeup artist, I had to inquire and make a detailed research about skin care. Therefore, I’m glad to share with you my golden rules for a stunning skin. Rules which, I admit, I do not rigorously follow all the time (such as correct alimentation – I know!!) but I’m trying and trying until I will transform these rules into my lifestyle. I hope it will motivate and inspire you because beautiful skin never goes out of trends!
Water is the most important ingredient for a beautiful skin! It’s refreshing, it can help weight loss, controlling calories, it’s energizing, prevents fluids loss, helps kidneys, and it also keeps skin hydrated. Moisture is the key to keeping skin youthful and healthy, soft and supple. The best tip to help you drink more water is keeping a bottle of water with you everywhere you go, in your bag, on your desk, in your car.
The skin soap type you use everyday is very important, either if you have dry, oily or combination skin. Find a perfect gentle cleanser with an optimal pH balance. But be careful not to use it too often because it can remove your natural face moisture. When washing your face keep the water warm and cleanse in circular motion with your fingers. After rising, gently pat your face in a soft towel.
Why exfoliate skin? Regular face cleansing is fairly necessary and helpful, but our skin needs MORE. To improve your skin care routine you have to exfoliate every week to properly remove dead cells. Exfoliating helps reducing acne and breakouts, improves skin texture, it helps better absorption of moisture, sunscreen, vitamins, masks, oils; Also it maintains a smooth glowing skin reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.
How to exfoliate? You can find lots of products on the market, depending on your skin type, special acids, serums, sponges, brushes, or you can create your own homemade facial scrubs. Enjoy your fresh smooth skin!
Skin has to be hydrated from the outside as well with creams and lotions! Using a moisturizer every day (and night) can help your skin, attracting natural moisture and protecting by holding the water and oils that are already inside of your skin. Always remember to use a moisturizer based on your skin type! For example, oily, acne skin needs a light lotion instead of cream. While for dry skin you should definitely go for a cream because it contains more oils than the lotion!
Lip skin is more delicate and fragile than facial skin and it gets harmed way more easier. Using lip balm can help your lips from becoming chapped and dry during hot sunny days or cold winter season!
Now that warm days are already here, we have to protect our skin from ultraviolet (UV) even more. It’s important to do it all year around not only in summer.
How can you protect yourself from UV rays? Easy. You don’t have to stay away from the sun for the rest of your life because it has its benefits for good health. Gently apply sunscreen on your skin before going out. It acts like a fine filter defending skin from UV damage. You can find it in products like creams, lotions, spray, gels, etc; or you can find it in some cosmetic products as well.
These brain friends are recommended for a healthy diet. Being full of vitamins, good fats, protein and fiber, nuts and seeds will help your skin look smoother and younger!
Warm bubble baths are such a delight! And a great remedy for health, too. It can help you relax after a long day reducing stress and improving sleep, it helps blood circulation, and prevents colds! Also it’s a great DETOX for the body. Stay in bath at least 10-20 minutes, the body warmth will stimulate the pores to release toxins.
To moisturize and prevent skin from dryness add oils in the bath water, such as coconut oil or olive oil.
Yes, showers and baths can bring amazing benefit to human skin! But be careful while having your long relaxing bath because hot water can remove natural protective body oils, leaving a dry tight skin.
Sunbathing can be great for your skin! Sometimes we don’t even realize how important it is, because going out is part of our life style. UVs can improve our energy and skin appareance, while stimulating Vitamin D synthesis into our bodies. But don’t forget your sun screen and glasses!
Our diet plays an essential role for our health. A big aspect of skin care is the importance of a healthy diet to cherish the body from within, and maintain a beautiful glow. The key to a good diet is drinking lots of water – again!, tea (green tea is filled with antioxidants), yoghurt, nuts, eggs, vegetable oils, less meat, avoiding sweets and eating lots of fruits and veggies!
As we already know, a well balanced diet is important for our skin health and beauty, but the fact is that, no matter what and how much we eat, the body accumulates only a certain percent of vitamins in skin.
Take the essential vitamins and supplements you need: Vitamin A – accelerates the formation of new cells, repair and maintenance. Vitamin B3 – reduces redness. Vitamin C – excellent anti-oxidant that protects skin cells. Vitamin E – moisturizing, used for smoothing skin, anti-aging, skin elasticity. Vitamin K for dark circles.
A professional facial massage can improve many conditions, bringing tone and vitality to your skin. This beauty procedure is used to slow aging process, to realive stress, clean and moisturize skin.
Facials are more about skin care than relaxation. They can provide removal of whiteheads and blackheads, skin cleaning, emollient nourishing masks, temporary wrinkle smooth, exfoliating scrub, chemical peel, discoloration fading with treatments.
The oil cleansing method is the most effective way to deep clean and balance skin oil production in a traditional way. Don’t be afraid to apply oil directly to your skin! You have many options; the most commonly used are: Castor Oil, Olive Oil, Coconut Oil and Hazelnut Oil.
Rub your face with both hands to warm a little the oil and to smooth it into your skin. While massaging, the oil will remove and wash all the makeup and impurities. If you are struggling with waterproof mascara, eye-liner or false lashes this is a great solution to get rid of them. Remove the oil gently with warm water. And you’re done, skin is nice and smooth now! This procedure must be done 2-3 times a week (less if you have oily skin).

Before you go to bed after a long day, have a few minutes only for YOU. First, and most important, ALWAYS REMOVE YOUR MAKEUP! Use a soft cotton pad to remove dirt, make-up and oils. After that use a toner or micellar water to erase impurities, exfoliate if needed, use serums or moisturizer to keep your face hydrated all night.
